    Do you enjoy reading books? There's a social reading platform on the Fediverse called BookWyrm, which is a free open alternative to Amazon Goodreads. Lots more info at:

    ➡️ https://fedi.tips/bookwyrm-a-social-network-for-people-who-enjoy-reading

    BookWyrm lets you import your existing account data from other platforms including Goodreads, LibraryThing, StoryGraph, OpenLibrary and Calibre.

    If you want to use BookWyrm's features you should join a BookWyrm server:

    ➡️ https://joinbookwyrm.com/instances

          @WeirdWriter

          Yes, it is. The lead developer confirmed they're still working on it and the BookWyrm Github page shows a steady stream of updates with the most recent being 5 days ago.

              Does it support searching well enough? My sweetheart wanted to move off Goodreads so I looked into BookWyrm for her. She likes to be able to search/tag/sort her notes/books/TBR/etc to find things, but search has been an exceptionally weak point for ActivityPub-based so I hesitated to have her go that route and she ended up on LibraryThing instead. 😕

                @FediTips are there any apps that directly support it? Been having trouble finding one on Google Play to share my reading and reviews

                  Not yet, but the website supports being installed as a web app which makes it behave like an app on your phone. More about how to do this at https://fedi.tips/how-to-install-web-apps-for-mastodon-and-the-fediverse/

                    @gumnos

                    There's a built-in book database using data from @wikidata and @inventaire and at least in my experience it works pretty well.

                    It might be worth trying to see how it seems for your needs.
