@paulhutchinson @leanderlindahl as a tech person who does politics, I’m tired (beyond the occasional PSA) of explaining to fellow politics/journo folks why BS has a limited shelf life and they should have all moved in on the fedi already.
People tend to say that mastodon is “too complicated” and they “don’t get it” and “nobody is there”. Which is all completely self-fulfilling.
I say “we are traffic”.

@samsterby @paulhutchinson I would add to that, that Mastodon/Fediverse has a very interesting and qualified audience, many important and skilled key individuals for building a strong sovereign and prosperous future. It'd be well worth it for public institutions and holders of public office to connect with such an audience.
But the real friction/pain is that there's no monetisation here. No "fame". No virality. So its the thinking man's social. Not the sugar high algo addict's social.
