Why did nobody think of the "boost comment" format where the post shows up in your followers' feeds, as usual, but with your comment attached right under it?
Besides that it can continue to act as a normal comment, showing up in the replies and so on (unlike a "quote post" which is its own separate thing with its own separate set of replies) so we can use it without having to compartmentalise the conversation

@badrihippo Agree. Groups, or the lack there of, is another one that annoys me.

A reply brings the topic back to the top (like a boost, in a way... back then we called it a bump!)
The cool thing is federated forums exist. I'm posting from one right now
