the id requirement stuff in apps like discord isnt happening just cause discord feels like being scummy or something, its a matter of time before thats required by law.

@yassie_j @fiore @ellie i was talking to my therapist a couple months ago and she was talking about how the Kids shouldnt be allowed on Apps like it was an uncontroversial position and i had to tell her if i didnt have the ability to inform myself on queer subjects and find communities to be myself in i wouldnt have made it and it was like she genuinely had not considered that angle at all and she had to reevaluate her position lmao. She’s really nice, i can’t even be that upset with her it’s like Everyone in her demographic thinks this way

Always keep in mind with Discord is that it has one billion dollars plus in investment total, and it is losing money big time (if a company is shedding jobs without market forces at play, then it's a bad sign)
They are going to do anything to make Discord palatable for sale, and do anything to make Discord make money back
