Microsoft has done something else that broke another thing in outlook. Now I get zero search results when I try to search for emails. It's broken on my boss's computer, too.
How bad will it have to get before my employer looks for alternatives? Probably really, really bad.
Spark email, Ukrainian software and I love it

@griff This is employer-provided. I don't use outlook in my personal life

They also broke the email signature feature, lol. Now instead of appearing at the end of the email, it will appear at any random place -- at the end, at the beginning, right in the middle of a sentence. Good job, microsoft

@MLE_online Having previously worked in IT in Higher Ed: Microsoft practically gives away licenses to Educational Institutions, so the school's CTO is highly incentivized to do the "safe" thing and stick with MSFT through some real abuse.

@foxxtrot im not holding out any hope that they'll do anything about this, but the rate of stupidifcation of MS software we use seems to have accelerated a great deal

@MLE_online Right in the middle of a sentence is a completely natural place for an email signature, stop imposing your unrealistically high standards on small software startups who don't have the staffing to write code by hand

@MLE_online don't get me started on signatures. I tried for the last year to have a unified signature for everyone (100 people company) I caved.

@MLE_online Yeah, if your bosses cared about Quality, Universities wouldn't use the Worst Groupware Ever Made: MSFT Teams.

@MLE_online Its hard to believe what organizational inertia will keep in place. I've only seen change when the existing option becomes so expensive they cannot afford to keep it.

@foxxtrot we don't use teams. Some offices on campus do, but most offices here use zoom

@MLE_online You know, I naively thought that going down for a full work day and refusing to apologize for it would end 365 but it seems like the entire "execuverse" just entirely memoryholed it in only a few months

@MLE_online nobody considers the cost of running windows, they never have, not even during the height of anti-virus software.
