As the Tangerine Tyrant demands unconditional surrender for Iran, and declares Cuba will collapse in the next week or so, one can only wonder when his focus will return to Greenland.

We seem to be increasingly in a world patterned by Trump's capricious whims & prejudices - I'm so glad I'm no longer professionally obliged to make sense of this for international relations students.

@ChrisMayLA6 It's just the Russian hemisphere story? Wasn't that one of the convoluted ethnographic musings of Dugin?
If I remember that well, then no, not a lot of fun explaining that to anyone.

@ChrisMayLA6 Even the Delphic Oracle would have trouble making sense of this nonsense.

@ChrisMayLA6 it is high time for the U.K. to do the same as Europe and start the process of disentangling from the USA, starting with IT and weapons. Already we know the USA was spying on European leaders and can shut off basic infrastructure.

@Nicovel0 @ChrisMayLA6 and I trust we are spying on US leaders

@RobertoArchimboldi @ChrisMayLA6 or (and I know this is far fetched) stop arming Israel, pressure the USA to stop their attack and reopen the strait of Hormuz, while investing in insulation and renewables. Maybe even get blue helmets in the area? I know this is all very old fashioned ideas.

It's a mug's game to try to make sense of what's so obviously capricious. I'd try augury.
As to all these adventures of conquest, holding an empire has historically proved to be a lot harder than conquering one.
Or, as Spock says near the end of Amok Time, "After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true."
