I was reminded again why I need to tune out the noise and distractions to listen and show people that I care and that I am here for them.
I can cook, call, text, write letters or walk next door and knock. Share a cup of coffee or tea. Offer to go for a walk. Any or all of these things.
Everyone needs a friend right now.
Not yesterday or tomorrow but now.
I can be a good listener.
Not that I have all of the answers or extra time but I can do what I can.
I ran into someone I haven't seen in years when I was taking Summer for a walk. She was so happy to see a familiar face she threw her arms around me. Looking for a place to walk she landed at our regular trail. Just sitting in the parking lot because she was afraid to walk alone but when we came along she wasn't alone anymore or afraid.
Hugs to all of our friends here and there.
