I’m reorganizing and tidying up my studio space at home and had this genius idea to use the stacking planters I bought at the dollar store and have not planted in, to use as a giant stacking art supply holder.

ikr?!I have a bookcase that is rotating and was able to fit almost my entire collection of books on it. Saved so much space, and I had these sitting next to it empty…and as I was tidying and trying to save space I had an aha! moment. It’s cute too! Expandable! If I do one with paint, I can just take trays off of acrylic, oil, markers, pencils etc. to use or make a top tray that is empty and I use to just put the colors I’m using in a series in.
Or, if your rotating bookshelf has solid areas, you could hand all your tubes with clips rhere, and only bring the ones for your current project to your work surface? Just a thot.
I like the idea of hanging paint tubes with clips! -
@JoBlakely I use a nice shower curtain on the wall, with magnetic strips behind it, for hanging paper art with strong magnets
In case that idea helps. (I know you work on canvas etc, so maybe not?)

It’s a great idea. Even just to protect the walls. I have some long thin wood dowels I am planning to use with clips with hooks to hang art either all one behind the other to dry & store or hung on the wall to display side by side. Was thinking of hanging my paint tubes this way as well. -

The bookshelf won’t be moving to that space, though I’d love to get rid of at least one of my Billy bookcases in my studio and replace it with another rotating bookcase one day for more storage of my sketchbooks, art books, larger paint supplies, etc. that bookcase is amazing. I want one in my kitchen pantry cupboard too. -

Was thinking of hanging my paint tubes this way as well.@JoBlakely yes, initially I got the shower curtain so I didn't have to worry about splashing paint on the walls. The magnet idea was a nice added bit of serendipity! Now it's easy to keep visible the pieces that are related to my current project. (With ADHD, out-of-sight tends to be out-of-mind, LOL).

@JoBlakely Very cool. I love repurposing things in creative ways. My bathroom needed a small shelf for bathroom things. I ended up using a wall mounted CD holder. Fits the space, holds everything I need it to.

I want one in my kitchen pantry cupboard too.@JoBlakely I have an ikea armoire in my studio, and I hung a bunch of inconvenient, awkward things on the more hidden side of it - very long rulers, my apron, set square, etc.
