Some bunnies are just really casual…. But in case this helps, we had a wonderful rabbit named Butternut who would use his litter box except when we changed out things and it was nice and fresh. We would put a few poops in for scent but that didn’t help. It wasn’t until after he passed away that we realized the compressed wood pellets/horse bedding was painful for him to stand on with his feeties.

So now we hydrate our wood pellets so they are fluffy and comfy 🙂

@BunnyMama@sfba.social that's interesting! We put plastic grate-thingies on pellet, so they do not soak their paws in what came out of them earlier, and in effect prevent them from hurting their feeties too. Though I think hydrating pellets is something to consider for us as extra step for their comfort. Thank you for sharing!
