      @outofprintarchive This game was the hardest game I've ever beaten, EASILY. The final stages are brutal and unforgiving and the final boss is cryptic and requires pinpoint accuracy. Regardless, it was so fulfilling to complete and I loved it.

        @Bogusmeatfactory

        I actually don't know if I ever beat this one.
        If I did, it had to be in 91 or 92, soon after it released.
        I know in recent years, whenever I go back to it, I don't get very far in anymore.
        Maybe level 5 or 6 I think.

          @outofprintarchive Yeah it took me a good 12 hours to beat, which is a long time for a game of that era for me. There isn't just rote memorization of patterns there is that extremely high level of execution too. In the final level, I essentially had stock piled all my lives to brute force my way up the top because you have to make trick jumps up a sheer cliff over and over AND IT'S A SLIPPERY ICE STAGE.

            @Bogusmeatfactory

            I just looked up a play through and yep, I do actually remember those final ice stages as well as that final climb on those slanted steps and the jump to the gate!
            So I really did complete it back in the day. 😄

            If there's one game I would actually pick up from MS, it would be Rare Replay if they ever ported it to Switch 2.
            They better include that finished, but unreleased HD remake of GoldenEye 007 if they ever do so though.

              @outofprintarchive it is WILD that they have kept that console esclusive. Not even released on PC. It is a damn shame!

                @Bogusmeatfactory

                Besides Forza Horizon and perhaps Gears Tactics, I think this is easily the best thing that have released in a long, long time.

                  @Bogusmeatfactory @outofprintarchive The million-dollar question: is it a 3D platformer?

                    If isometric 3D is 3D, then I guess it is…kinda

                      @Bogusmeatfactory I still remember the last jump in the ice level before the end. And then the frustration of what the hell am I supposed to do. Took me several tries to realise the foot in the last level actually took damage, it just needed a whole lot of it.
