I think hardline open-source Linux program names fall into (usually but not exclusively) two categories: i) names sharing the first alpabet with its mother project (K for KDE, G for Gnome or GNU), or ii) names so verbose that it's contracted to an abbriviation and that became a name of its own (e.g., GIMP).
