Album cover of Elastic Days by J Mascis features a delicate, hand-drawn illustration of a winged figure, perhaps a fairy or spirit, kneeling beside a reclining, faceless form in a barren, mountainous landscape. Rendered in soft pencil with subtle color accents, the image evokes introspection, fragility, and emotional weightlessness, mirroring the album’s melodic gentleness amid Mascis’ signature sonic depth. The stark, almost dreamlike terrain reflects solitude and resilience, while the wings suggest transcendence or escape. No credited artist is listed, but the style aligns with Mascis’ own minimalist, personal aesthetic. The title “Elastic Days” echoes the cover’s theme: bending under pressure without breaking, a quiet strength in vulnerability.

@ismailghedamsi the cover was illustrated by John Brattin.

He’s worked with J before, and has done a bunch of stuff for Sub Pop.
