I didn't know you could make a Cybertruck look uglier, but I learn new things every day

@LilahTovMoon why. just..... why.
@xgranade My guess would be to create slightly more vertical space. The stock bed slopes to nearly zero wall at the rear, affording pretty limited vertical space, unless you just pile stuff up, but also little wall to retain any of it. This mod creates an enclosed (and reasonably securable) area that's otherwise just open exterior space.

@LilahTovMoon I guess they couldn't fit a bicycle in the tray.

The orange 200-300 lbs of railroad rail on the bumper is a special modification.

@JohnJBurnsIII @LilahTovMoon If it’s ever involved in a collision, the only thing left will be the plywood cap. 🤪

@penguinclaw69 I didn't notice those panels up there! I could be that tells us a little about how they got to this point.
I remember watching one review of the Cybertr*ck that complained that the bed of the truck was difficult to access. You couldn't reach over the side and grab something. You had to always climb into the back first.

@ehurtley @LilahTovMoon and that thing is mounted to... some of the plastic trim? Just glued on there, to body panels that are glued on?
The canopy seems functional, but no way in hell I'm driving behind this if theres a ladder on top.

@LilahTovMoon dang, definitely gives the electric car they built on Top Gear a run for its money!
-
@LilahTovMoon i don't know. I'm kinda impressed. sure, I don't know why you'd buy a cybertruck, but the diy topper makes me less likely to hate the person driving it? seems practical, at least. and like it's used for work.
@cathos @LilahTovMoon appears to make this vehcicle more dangerous to everyone else on the road.
