@dangillmor Truman's promise of a "military industrial complex" could not be more proven. A certifiable imbecile has been place in the top executive position and yet the USA keeps chugging along doing what it has always done, extracting from its citizens, extorting its vassals, and enriching its oligarchs.
I've just finished reading a history of the Knights Templar which by necessity is also a quick history of the Crusades. The rapacity, fanaticism and insularity of 12th century European royalty is well matched by the rapacity, fanaticism and insularity of 21st century US oligarchy.
