Ohh, what's this? A real #Linux for smartphones?

Running a recent mainline kernel, even though the hardware is almost 10 years old?

An alternative to #Android that's gaining a lot of traction?

Developed in the open by an international community? Sounds too good to be true!

@blinry @postmarketOS The only item I keep missing is device encryption, otherwise it runs nicely.

@blinry @postmarketOS Okay, I seriously need to look into postmarket OS, I assumed it would only target new phones. Thanks for the tip

A 10x more relevant mission in today's scenario with the ongoing RAM-pocalypse.

@blinry hmmmm, how's the app ecosystem looking there? From what I gathered, the usual Android apps are not simply usable on postmarket OS, or am I missing something?
(Especially if one is pinned to DB Navigator for Deutschlandticket etc. this could be of importance)

@daniel_bohrer Just getting into it, but some people seem happy with using https://waydro.id for backwards-compatibility!

FML it is really that old already. But still a decent device, yes.

@blinry oh, interesting approach, using a LineageOS container for Android apps. With an additional alternative Google Play Store frontend this could be a way forward. https://chaos.social/@daniel_bohrer/116102904409562091
