    Remember that? 2019? Good times.

    But Elon has discovered lately that the Moon is a little closer. So it will be a train to the Moon now. I guess. Soon!

      @chrisstoecker
      Maybe a full orbit without explosions or failing heatshields would be a good first milestone for the Starship project.

      @mardor The first orbit (including launch and orbital insertion) is hard. The last orbit (including deorbit and controlled braking) is hard. The ones in between are much easier.

      So hold off on the first and last ones until they figure it out, and focus on the remainder of the spaceflight? After all, you can easily get to >95% success that way.

      🙂

              @chrisstoecker It looks like it's even 2016, not 2019?

                    @chrisstoecker Die "Phantasien" (vulgo: die Wahnvorstellungen) der Inverstoren müssen halt regelmäßig mit immer absurderen Geschichten und Ankündigungen gefüttert werden. Fakt ist, dass "wir" (Menschheit im Westen) es aktuell nicht einmal zum Mond schaffen, da Space X schlichtweg das mehrfach angekündigte Landemodul nicht liefern kann.

                      @chrisstoecker Sehr schade. Meine Hoffnung war, dass die Milliardäre auf den Mars unsere Erd-Viren einschleppen und irgendeine lokale Mutation deren Gehirne zu Gemüse verwandelt, dass sie vergessen jemals von der Erde gekommen zu sein und einfach dort ihr Dasein fristen bis zum jüngsten Tag. Ich glaube, ich werde einen Roman dieser Art schreiben, der ein Bestseller wird und damit überreich werden. 🫢 Schluck.

                        @chrisstoecker In a very cynical way, you could even compare DB to Musk.
                        Both rarely reach their destinations and are often late. What's more, both have ICEs that kill people from time to time.
