Spain denies USA use certain bases for their Iran aggression, so Trump threatens to cut off *all trade with Spain*
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-03-03/trump-threatens-to-cut-off-trade-after-spain-denies-air-base-use

US their trade policy is just another tool of imperialist coercion and control.

That said, I wonder if that means that Spain will lose access to all the US-based Big Tech services and tools? Because it would seem to me as if that was the case.

And if that's the case… tech sovereignty becomes even more clear of a choice for EU. 🍿

@mro @wall_e free trade is one of the worst things to happen to humanity, aside from the United Snakes Of America's founding. Utter global tragedy, that.

@rysiek besides, we don't have any problem when USA used the bases for NATO operations, but last time we back them for an illegal war it doesn't paid the price.

@rysiek There is absolutely no reason to not have software sovereignty. Open source software has alternatives for almost all proprietary software that is not tied to some kind of weird hardware with weird closed source drivers.

@rysiek If every country stopped trading with the U.S. for a month, maybe even a week, would it send a message?

@kimlockhartga The world needs to tame the arrogant bully that is the USA.

Its deep egocentricity - where gas guzzling cars driven vast distances, and meat consumption every meal is seen as their natural rights - is costing the world heavily now.

Spain denies USA use certain bases for their Iran aggression, so Trump threatens to cut off *all trade with Spain*

@rysiek Best news- Spain is a sovereign country that does not bow down to imperialist bullies in their macabre business of war. Hopefully Amazon, Microsoft and other big tech get the hell out from Spain for good and stop their nasty mega AI data center project in Aragon.
