How to turn off AI features in Firefox, or choose the ones you want | The Mozilla Blog

In the latest desktop version of Firefox, you’ll find an AI controls section where you can turn off AI features entirely — or decide which ones stay on. Here’s how to set things up the way you want.

@nateb I found the switch to turn of AI features in FireFox a few months ago... by switching to WaterFox.
Seriously, AI showed up in FireFox and I was like "hell no!"
Feedback form for why I uninstalled FireFox said it was the AI that did it.

Honestly though, I feel like the execution of this feature is the best thing Firefox has done in years. Genuinely. It's very intuitive and clean-looking. "You want ALL features off? Done. You want only the local features on? Done. You want some features and not others? We got you, boo."

This just shows that Mozilla is CAPABLE of listening to their audience and delivering a quality product/experience.

        They just choose not to.

@pip @nateb it feels like the least bad option. What do you suggest?

@nechesh @nateb Use an FF fork that disabled AI by default. I use Librewolf, and I hear good things about Waterfox as well.
