@GossiTheDog easy enough to do but just a pointless waste of resources.

It's bad enough the resource usage when using these things for a semi useful output but if you're making it run in circles to make it look like you're using it then that's even worse

@GossiTheDog sooooo he wants his super "engineers" (are they qualified as such?) to spend half their salary using the products they're there to produce?

              Am I misreading that?

@GossiTheDog I dream of a time when "person who makes more money when you consume more of a thing wants you to consume more of that thing" is not considered insightful thought leadership.

@GossiTheDog I am sure a 500.000$ engineer finds a way to spend 250.000$ in tokens and do the work manually.

Of course he and his company didn’t get extra profit if AI token are used prudently. It is totally to his advantage for users to be wasteful and overspend.

@GossiTheDog If I wanted to "program" by babysitting a bunch of approximately-competent workers who can almost follow instructions if I give them very specific tasks but not too much all at once, I'd... well. Probably be running a Silicon Valley AI startup, I guess.

@greem @GossiTheDog Nvidia is paying for the tokens … they’re just using it as a dumb proxy for productivity, like counting how many staples the HR team uses and firing them for not using enough
