What the hell do we do with this problem? How could we amend the Constitution to prevent such a thing?

@drahardja Take the money out by requiring all MoC, SCOTUS, and Potus/VP to have blind trusts.
And hard SHORT term limits (better than age limits--which are inherently ageist of course).
@drahardja Oh, and add an amendment overturning Citizens United and *any* corporate donations.

urgently, overturn Citizens UnitedThen enshrine TERMS and AGE LIMITS for any and every elected or directly vetted public office.
Erase presidential pardon powers.
It'd be a good start.

@drahardja Each rep would be representing fewer people thus having more of an ability to actually represent and be held accountable.

@drahardja First, do what Rep. John Dingle (RIP) recommended after serving 60 years in the House: get rid of the Senate as it undermines equal representation for every American.
Second, apply the Constitution's Article I, Section 2 and ensure there is a representatitve for every 30,000 citizens with at least one per state.
Third, limit SCOTUS terms to 20 years or less, publicly fund presidential campaigns and limit federal campaign spending more.
Lastly, mandatory US civics education.

Make lobbying illegal. Make stock trading illegal for legislators.
Establish mandatory financial disclosures, random inspections/audits, mandatory inspection/audit at end of term(s) for every member of Congress, Circuit/Appeals/SCOTUS and Cabinet. Zero exceptions.

@drahardja Oh and GET RID OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE. That one is huge. National election means all the votes count the same not state by state. You have more votes overall, you win.
I'd add a mandatory >50% vote getting requirement, so there is a runoff if the first round doesn't produce a majority winner.
