          "the maximalist calculus right after a blue wave midterm simply doesn't work out for republicans but they're doing it anyway.

          they're playing w/fire doing this right before democrats take control of a bunch of swing states, and the impact on house control will be relatively low; but republicans have a doctrinal opposition to black people having elected representation, so of course it must happen immediately."
