A lot of people angry and outraged about the jerks attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

@_L1vY_ Why is it not a good thing? Stinky and his mafia need to know no one is buying their bullshit.
@RIJim Because it means we are in a widespread post-truth crisis. A fascist atmosphere of "nothing is true therefore nothing matters" AKA the Zone of Shit.

I also think it's interesting that no one seems to care.
Another day with the champagne still sitting in the fridge

-
@_L1vY_ they are using this as a justification and need for the WH ballroom.
@JoBlakely Yes, I just haven't had a chance yet to do another thread on that whole massive ridiculous arc

-
I was shocked to see so many people there...
@mattmaison I was not surprised but still disappointed and disgusted

@_L1vY_ Never confuse lapdogs begging for scraps with watchdogs prepared to take a presidency down if that’s where the story leads.

@raganwald There were pool reporters COVERING the event, but there did NOT need to be reporters attending as guests, gushing and fawning and lending credibility (while posting puff pieces and apologetics). This was not early Woodward-and-Bernstein dynamics.
Someone pointed out this event was set up most like the ending scene in Cabaret and that looks about right.

@_L1vY_ CW: Business journalists and PR flacks identify with CEOs, not with customers. Political journalists and PR flacks identify with politicians, not with citizens.
And do it goes with tech journalists, automotive journalists, and so many other industry journalists who identify with the subjects of their coverage, not their readers.
