I'm not clued up enough to understand what remains of "the Metaverse" the Zuckster was banging on about a few years back, once you kill the VR component. Does that mean some significant part of his metaverse enterprise still remains, or does this mean that the whole shebang is essentially kaput? -

@GossiTheDog people will always have this biological and psychological need to connect, share stories and art. These companies try and replace that believing they can enslave biology, but always ultimately fail.

@GossiTheDog Honestly, as pessimistic as I was, "Meta" threw so much money and reputation at metaverse I honestly thought something permanent would come out of it even if it was still just a token executive toy VRML chat app just to keep the boss happy.
