      Although Tom and Charlotte did get married 5 years later and are still together with 2 kids, so there’s a happy ending for this one anyway.

        @Nickiquote why do people keep adapting Wuthering Heights? Is there some desire to permanently change it into a love story when it isn't one?

                  And then of course there’s pre-Lovejoy, pre-Deadwood Ian McShane as Heathcliff in the 1967 TV version. A Heathcliff with a firm grasp of how handsome he is. Adam Ant could never.
