    @stux As expected, this thread brought out some bigot JKR fans for my blocklist. 🙄

      @stux

      Streaming services now use paid services to track how often torrents are downloaded, effectively treating piracy as another viewer metric. Just by torrenting it you're helping boost JKR's numbers. And alas, using a VPN won't change that.

      There are many services, but one such tool is Piracymeter.

      @ralfmaximus True that but it won't contribute direct cash at least 😉

      Gotta start somewhere

        If I would solemnly swear to just have social contact with people I totally agree with I would be the loneliest person in the world.

        @anthrazit @stux so instead you choose to align yourself with fascists. Personally, I'd rather be lonely* than a fascist, but YMMV

        *I've actually discovered that trying to take away human rights from entire groups of people is a pretty easy line to draw and still find plenty of friends, especially when those groups are >half the planet. I associate with people who disagree with me on all sorts of things--whether certain people deserve the right to exist doesn't have to be on the list

          @CStamp @jakebrake @stux one of my main gripes is

          "There is no magic strong enough to raise the dead...oh wait there is, we just lied. Lied so the only intresting (to me) part is negated and leads to dull by the books resolution.

          @Noortjevee That didn't bother me so much because the cost of coming back was one that cost a lot and corrupted the person throughout the process. And he didn't really come back from the dead because he never totally died. He was just mostly dead. 🙂 @jakebrake @stux

            @Noortjevee @jakebrake @stux I think he got his magic rules a lot more consistent. JKR had so many inconsistencies. They can do a reparo, for instance, to fix broken glasses, but poor witches/wizards have patched or ratty robes? They all seem to take the train, in a muggle train station, to Hogwarts, but there are magic folk who don't know what muggles dress like?

            the whole
            "...and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives."

            (had to google the words)

            Was kinda intresting to me.

            but the cop out of the deathly hallows, and then the goddamn expeliarmus deflect bullshit, so they could go "no no...HArry never killed him, voldemort kinda killed himself"

                They could just have said "predicting the future doesn't work, suck it up". Unfortunately fantasy on magic is rarely courageous enough to handle the "prophesy of the one who will be our salvation" properly (ie. this way).

                      @stux

                      Does she plan to teach a new generation of kids that only a 'man' and a 'woman' can have a child that they recklessly leave-behind while fighting the specters of their own creation, to be raised by child-slavers and sneaky serpents, who are the only ones that child can trust? And that kid's name is definitely not Jesus?

                      I admit, I quit watching after the werewolf one and never read them. Did I get it wrong?

                          @stux Please don't spread nonsense. You are right about the fact that noone asked for this, but at least Rowling still knows what common sense is.

                            @anthrazit This is not about agreeing if eggs are good or not. This is about agreeing if trans people have rights.

                            If you don't think they do, then no. I absolutely cannot "have social contact" with someone like you. @raphaelmorgan @stux
