The rule of thumb is (or ought to be, at any rate) "Amuse, don't abuse." I don't know if you know who Paul Castle is, but his husband Matthew is ace at this. Paul is blind, and loves the way Matthew is constantly pranking him because it's all gentle fun that never fails to make Paul laugh.

Sadly, too many people think pranks are just an excuse to abuse.
