    If you successfully left IT to work in a different field, what was it? How was your experience? What skills from your previous career were applicable while looking and applying?

      @itsVague I mean, it's still kind of in process, as I haven't SUCCESSFULLY become a librarian yet, but that's where I'm headed. And I'm aware of the fact that I will take a massive pay cut to do that (although, I was making $0 per year in IT after I was laid off so was it really a cut?). But I'm hoping in exchange I will get my soul back lol.

      But communications skills, project management, and general IT knowledge are valuable in any career. I fully expect that I will be the IT girl in whatever library ends up hiring me, despite my protestations that I just want to be the queer YA novel expert.
