@britt I'm getting a mull-eh next month... I have super fine hair and in no way will it stand up à la Joe Dirt... can hardly wait 🤗

I keep wondering if I could pull off a modern mullet. My hair is naturally wavy/curly and flows like a dream. 😆

No. I can’t. My hair is thinning too much in the front from androgenic alopecia.

BUT — my hair in the back is SO THICK and CURLY. It’s glorious. I kinda hate that I have to buzz it down to 0-1 at the barber. 💈

I’m wanting to do something different but it’s hard when you’re experiencing diffuse and uneven hair thinning/loss.

Ideas?? Anyone wanna put my face on some hair styles for fun? LOL

@britt I tried a "wolf cut" a few years ago but that was hard to make it look ok thanks to uneven curl in my hair.

@britt I tried over successive cuts (I do my own at home a lot) to let the back grow into a party - but as soon as it got long enough to be obvious I was like yuck, no can do!

Didn't help that it was probably summer when I tried. Too much hot and sweaty in exactly the wrong place, so off it came.

Don't see why you can't try and let it grow out though - maybe with a fauxhawk as a middle ground...

@sarajw that’s exactly what I’m worried about! I have *so* much hair in the back it’s wild. I imagine it’ll be brutal during the summer though, especially trying to sleep. 😬

@britt yeah I kind of liked the look of it, but I've been a short back and sides person for so very long, that it felt so wrong and it had to go.

Even when I do let my hair grow long, the last couple of times it's been over a severe undercut, so I could still put it up and feel the breeze around my neck.

That might be where a faux hawk could work though - give you some party at the back but still tapering into the neck?

@britt not saying you have to do the full hawk, mind 🙂 more about the tapering extra stuff at the back, that might let your curls show a bit

@sarajw I do like that low taper. Most barbers taper way up high in the occipital area for me and I’m not a huge fan of it. Maybe it’s because I cut my temple area down to a 1ish? And it’s for balance?

Ty for chatting with me about it. I’m going to have to just walk in somewhere and hope they can do the thing.
