I have been recently thinking about Denethor II in the LOTR movie. "So goes Denethor, son of Ecthelion".
After gazing into the future through Palantir, Denethor becomes convinced that there is no hope for the humankind.
Present events offer a distinct possibility to despair because of wars, climate change, and loss of biodiversity.
I will quote the LOTR movie again: "I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me".
All is not lost.
