I am so disappointed in John August and the developers of screenwriting macos app Highland 2 (now Highland Pro).

As another example of #enshitification they created an amazing screewriting simple free application that leveraged the use of the https://fountain.io/ file format... then released an update that deleted Highland 2 and attempts to force users to Highland Pro that tries to force users into a monthly subscription.
You don't need the update though!
I'm still rocking their free Highland 2 version (previous download) and found some nice free alternatives that do not require anything to utilize the same functionality!
- Use terminal Nano with syntax highlighting fountain.nanorc: https://github.com/IBPX/fountain_nano
- Local version of Afterwriting: https://afterwriting.com/
Same results creating PDFs as Highland and works with any browser

@paulywill Fountain can be used via GNU Emacs. And then I use Trelby to export it.
