They were coerced into stopping because the dictators ratings are so fucking low. This has jack shit to do with their mission or whatever other fucking excuse they want to fucking make. His ratings aren't low though - that's the most alarming part of all this. The fact that 2 out of 5 people are looking at all that's happening and still think it's great is a sign of a very deep and very widespread rot.
