So. To try to use controversy to distract from the Centurion data breach and UCP electoral boundary gerrymandering scandals, the UCP are rolling out anti-bicycle legislation on Monday. Insiders say it will use the #Notwithstanding Clause to circumvent the supreme court ruling that prevented Ford from ripping out bike lanes in Ontario.
Talk about low-bar callous disregard for safety: literally throwing people (kids!) in front of buses (& trucks) to distract us from UCP perfidity.
We won't take the bait. We'll stay calm, deflect back to #Centurion breach of 2.9M Albertans' privacy, the election boundary #gerrymandering, the UCP-fomented attacks on Canadian confederation, and pedal on.

On Sunday, as I wait for Monday to learn the extent of the Ab UCP's latest legislative overreach into Municipal Affairs, and attempt to farm bikelash so as to distract from their gerrymandering and the Centurion project, I am reminded that Nadine at @Slashgraphics has made a T-shirt we'll all need as, instead of taking their bait, we take the lane:

@HyL
If bikers, whom have the legal right and responsibility to ride on the road, use the entire lane as they are entitled, and bike in groups across all lanes (say 109th between Southgate and the UofA), then car drivers will start demanding bike lanes. -
