A new report says Generative AI is jeopardizing the energy transition, demanding far more computing power than earlier AI models, and increasingly turning to fossil fuels.

To make matters worse, AI companies are burying the data on their true emissions and energy use, especially Big Tech’s three largest players, Google, Amazon and Microsoft.
