Miscommunication is the whole raison d'être of romcoms! Certainly frustrating for the viewer.
I love the sites that were chosen all around Alberta, and I chuckle every time they drive on roads that would be in the wrong location. I was quite annoyed that Vancouver's Gastown steam clock was inexplicably placed in Canmore. Perhaps the director wanted to emphasize the concept of time.
