It was $100 USD. A PS5 controller with similar features is $200 USD.

@krutonium@social.treehouse.systems controllers just have too much crap in them these days IMHO. it's overengineered. fairly priced for what it is.

@eri I don't think it is over-engineered though!
I have an OG Steam Controller, and a SteamDeck.
TouchPads are fucking fantastic, Gyro is Amazing, and I would not go back to a controller that doesn't have it, Back Paddles (or buttons) are great for some games (like Driving games, they become paddle shifts), the list goes on.
The controller is everything I want out of a modern controller.
It's honestly what I'd consider the minimum for a good PC controller these days.
