@gardiner_bryant I've read an article about it that had a similar headline. It is not in general but specifically for accessing 18+ content/communities and it seems like they try to determine age based on other factors first like account age.
So according to the article I've read about it "Discord will require your government ID starting in March" is a false statement at best and intentionally deceptive at worst.

It's still a software requesting a Government ID at all in some instances to make use of their software.
I understand a lot of people use Discord, but I feel like that crosses a line. Once a company crosses that line, they're not going to revert or stop.
