    The first thing to do when you buy a house, whether new or not, is replace the toilet inlet lines on the toilets with heavy duty ones. Builders install cheapo inlet lines which will often break in the first year and if that happens and you are not home to catch it, woe unto you. Woe! I've had it happen in an old house and a brand new house, was home and caught both within a minute and didn't have to have any floor or wall repair work done. Get you the heaviest duty toilet inlet lines. You'll thank me when nothing happens.

    I was prompted to say this due to a swiftonsecurity post on Bsky detailing extensive damage. #homeowners #plumbing

      @Nonya_Bidniss

      Yes! Ditto on the hoses going to the washing machine, get heavy duty braided stainless steel hoses.
