A decade older running friend is dealing with a chronic knee issues. Trying to come to terms with his limits. He has picked up cycling again, so we may find ourselves with a new sport. We have many commonalities. Keeps me keenly aware of how fragile / tenuous our hobbies can be as we age. Don't take it for granted, and don't tie all our identity to it.

@m750 So true, I just started training again a week ago and then I fell and sprained my ankle (or stress fracture) so bad that I am now on crutches. I may have to take up swimming for a while. We have to be flexible as we get older.
