Reminds me of Discworld where one woman was named Magrat and her daughter's middle name is "check spelling" because of lousy clerics. -

I mean in Poland that is the term that is used, at least by people who are knowledgeable about the topic. It's not a gender change, just a correction. Whether you're talking about legal proceedings or surgical procedures you'll find it called that here. -
