If Hati stumbled across said crystal, she would no doubt bring it to Dorcha Castle to ask Alistair and Fenella about it. Caden as well, surely. She wouldn't know what else to do. Magic plays a part in this story as well, so there's also that to consider.

#WordWeavers 3.16 — Do you have any kind of ritual to get in the mood to sit down and write? If so, what is it?

I put music on. That's always a huge part of my ritual. And I also need to have a jug of water at my side. That's definitely a "must have" for me. But yes, I like to put on music playlists that I've made for my stories. It gets me into the right headspace and into the mood to write and have the ideas flow.

Instead of a single time, I'll mention a "thing" that Alistair has failed at: telling the truth. Throughout the story, he's an unreliable narrator. He's had so many chances to tell Fenella, and even Caden, the truth. But he hasn't. It's time to fess up.

The big ol' answer is what she is. It's actually quite simple. Alistair (MMC) is a vampire, and Hati (FSC) is a werewolf. They're both immortals, but they aren't the same kind, and yet, despite what their people deem is appropriate, they're close friends.

Alistair used to be reckless, then turned recklessly brave, eventually timid, and maybe now he's coming around to being recklessly brave again. Circumstances have changed him.

#WordWeavers 3.23 — What are you careful about when writing?

Oh, there are many things, I'm sure. Race, culture, subjects containing CWs or TWs, etc. I would *never* want to miswrite things, or make serious issues seem unimportant. We strive to be the best people we can be while we're writing stories that need to be told. It really is as simple and as complicated as that.
