    I have a confession. I collect #microcontrollers. Like hundreds of them. Some are #8bit and many are 32 bit and can run Linux and FreeBSD. Many have programmable #FPGA's with SDR transceivers attached. I never expected to own more than a small 8 bit computer for entertainment decades ago, yet I am surrounded by power I cannot comprehend.

    What is it you collect? How did you start collecting?

      @dianea I've managed to control my urge to collect microcontrollers and the like, but I failed when it came to my art, tech, science, and math books. At this point I am willing to say I probably have too many. Oh well... But I started as soon as I was able to afford books. Used bookstores are a particular weakness.

        @cstanhope @dianea Oi! Books are a particular weakness, though I wouldn't say I'm a collector. Saw this meme a while ago with no attribution - Me: Whew! That escape room was hard! My friend: That's a used book store. (eye roll)

          @dianea For some people this is a confession because they think it's too weird: skulls, I collect animal skulls. (And some bones) How did I get started? Told my best friend I wanted skulls and he brought me the head of a not-so-recently-deceased raccoon that had electrocuted itself on the wires at his brother's farm. Taught myself how to clean it and went on from there. I have only a few so far because, you know, even out in the bush, you don't find dead animals every day.

            @braxa26

            When I first saw bones in the property, that freaked me out. That's when I learned how to identify what it was and how it got there.
