    Catching up on #ThePlaylist. Very nostalgic for me to hear Fightstar's Paint Your Target, even if I was the one who recommended it.

    I broke my nose in a Fightstar mosh pit back in 2008. I was actually there to see Coheed and Cambria, but I've never passed up the chance for a mosh when I've had one. Nose is still broken to this day because in 2008 I was not the sort of person to care for getting it properly set. I'm still not, but I wasn't then either.

    I think hearing that I broke my nose in a mosh pit is the proudest my older brother has ever been of me, and I have a PhD.

      @astronomerritt

      One of my clearest memories from the 90s is from the Slayer mosh pit on the Clash of the Titans tour. This giant guy with a white t-shirt came staggering out of the pit, blood cascading down from his broken nose. The front of his shirt was soaked and red, and the smile on his face said he'd never had a better time.

        @SQLAllFather Ha! I know how he felt. It really did bleed an astonishing amount, but I didn't feel any pain at all.

          Anyway, 2008 was eighteen years ago, so if anyone wants me, I'll be crumbling into dust.

            @astronomerritt Sounds like one hell of a thesis defence

              @EveOfTheFuture I remember even less of my thesis defense than I do getting accidentally punched in the face.

                If anyone's curious, my younger brother was less proud of me, as he was there when it happened and had to help mop the rather enormous amounts of blood off my face and t-shirt. He then spent the rest of the concert trying to stop me from getting back in the mosh pit, bless his heart.

                  @astronomerritt It's a very, very slow crumble.

                  Also, where did all this dust come from?

                    @alan This would explain why I feel I am constantly dusting.

                      @astronomerritt Exactly! (In fact, a significant component of dust is dead skin cells, so...)
