I'm reminded of the benefits of setting up an email forwarder for everything that requires an email address.
Some time back I provided such an address to a site that I thought might be useful, or might go south. Recently I started getting messages that weren't spam, but just weren't for me, so I hit the unsubscribe link. My attempt to unsubscribe was met with the error "user doesn't exist," which seems odd, because I'm reasonably certain that i do exist.
So I deleted the forwarder, and now, although I'm sure they'll keep sending emails, as far as that organization is concerned, my [non]existence is irrelevant.
Bye now, and thanks for playing.
