    This is what predatory
    #patriarchalcapitalism does to communities.
    By the time negotiations happened with the Three Affiliated Tribes, the federal government had already approved the dam, meaning: Construction plans were underway congress had funded the project and federal agencies were committed to it because of this, historians often say the tribes were negotiating compensation rather than consent.
