I have yet to meet the three midnight washerwomen. But it’s good to know which way to wring the sheets so my arms don’t snap off and I’m suffocated in their wet washing.

This is more eerie than the common things that purport to scare us. Ghosts and vampires are old hat, no thrill. But if these three ominous washerwomen showed up for Hallowe'en, that would send a chill up my spine. Especially if they challenged me to wring out shrouds with them.
