    There is a tree in my front yard which is surrounded by daffodils. We call them "Grandma's daffodils", though she has been gone since 2004. They were required to be blooming in time for Easter every year. So far, they have never failed, although some years they were only partially blooming, and some years they were slightly past their best. But one way or another, we have had daffodils for Easter.

    So today, Ash Wednesday, we are still surrounded by snow. Over 100 inches this winter. This past weekend, we had a thaw, and snow began to melt, and we got our hopes up. But today, we had wet sleety snow falling again.

    This is a picture of the daffodils. You can't see them, but they are under there. They will be blooming by Easter, because Grandma requires them to. I will put this picture up as the "Before" scene. Follow this thread over the next six weeks, and you will see Grandma's daffodils!

      @CommonSparrow
      Daffodils are like the stars, you may not always see them, but you know they are there 😄

        The continuing daffodil vigil. Week two of Lent. More snow flurries today. But the fence in the background is now halfway visible above the snow, an improvement since last week!
