left image: local isn't a boot path, it's a command. Needs to be in the form `local!/path/to/filesystem`.
Right image: disks are directories, and you can't boot the directory!
/dev/sdE1 should be the CD drive; the USB drive should show up as a /dev/sdU..., not sdE; E is SATA, U is USB.
It looks like there's something wrong with that controller possibly (nusb/usbd: too many attaches in short succession), unsure if it's hardware fault or quirk or whatnot
