I also own multiple discord bots and i hit the 100 server now you need to hand over your ID thing.
Yea no. I will not KYC myself on such an insecure platform that does not care about user safety amd recently even leaked user ID's in a breach of their zendesk support form. No thanks.What alternative are you using?

much like mastodon it's both an underlying protocol and a flagship of the decentralized service
also much like mastodon if you're an individual casual user it's as "easy" as researching and vetting a homeserver whose owners/admins you trust for both policy and longevity https://joinmatrix.org/guide/
if you want to host a larger community it might be "easier" for your own admin reasons to host your own (federated, interoperable) home server, or pay a hosting provider to set up and maintain one for you. I have zero experience with this. it can cost a bit of money, but relying on a for-profit company to give useful services away for "free" is how a lot of people got stuck
it offers optional end to end encryption in both one-to-one and group chats, but I think the larger the room the less stable full encryption can be. also it's full user responsibility to maintain their login and keys - forget them and you just have to start over with a new account

I just got my band set up on a #selfhosted #Matrix / #Element. This is controversial for a number of reasons - but I'm comfortable doing the grunt work to make it happen in a way I can live with.For my non-techie friends coming over, it's close enough and they picked it right up. Our needs are basic and are covered.
I realise this will not fit everyone's needs, and it's a sprawling project choked with #enshittification at the moment, but if you can sift down through it all, you might find something that works. (Not very encouraging - I know. I'm sorry - it's a little dire out there.)
Another alternative that I run is #xmpp. It's less like discord than most Matrix clients, but it's fast and light - time tested and has e2ee.
There is also #NextCloud Talk. I don't use it much, but it works as well as xmpp or matrix in my experience.
