Marjatta tuli metsäretkeltä marjatta. Tuuli kertoi, että siellä tuuli. Seppo meni vuorostaan ulos ja jätti oven sepposen selälleen. Hän pyysi Ottoa mukaan, mutta tämä sanoi, ettei ollut otollinen hetki lähteä. Erkki ei ottanut mistään tästä selvää.
