      @dramypsyd @catsalad Nope, today is the 4,026th iteration of today… I think. Hoping today is substantially different…

        The Noble prize laureate Stephen Hawking once announced a party for time travellers...

        ... His thinking being, if it was invented in the future, someone might show up.

        No one showed up on the date.

            @dramypsyd why would I want to get out of a time loop? Finally enough time to watch all the movies and shows and read all the books I wouldn't have time for otherwise. Learn new languages and finally get better at playing the guitar.
            We'll talk again after a thousand iterations.

                @dramypsyd At last, someone who believes me! Right, I'll keep this short because last time you stopped following me. But perhaps we can break out by... No, don't unfollow me.

                Oh.

                /jk to cover the possibility this is too convincing.

                  @j5v I have a rule that if someone tells me they're in a time loop I'm going to believe them because I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have to try and convince people every day so I appreciate the jk

                    @dramypsyd I expect you're unlikely to have someone genuinely in a time loop, unless you're part of the solution. In which case, whatever you do is right. Unless you're also in the loop.

                      @n_dimension @dramypsyd

                      Sure but consider:

                      -Time travel might be heavily regulated or otherwise esoteric pursuit and the general public Is/will not be allowed to know about it. Showing up to a party would ruin the secrecy.

                      -The same argument but with a cool kids/mean girls element and the future travelers didn’t think Hawking was cool enough to hang out with 😞

                      -The same argument but Hawking is in on it, and did that stunt to be like “nothing to see here!”

                      -just before time travel is invented the BBC overwrites over the only extant tape that contains the details with “A Very Blobby Christmas (2643)”

                      -Time travel may or may not exist and Steven gave a bad date/coordinates, because he wanted an excuse to gorge himself on party food. A bet with/prank on another physicist may have been involved.
